A helicopter of the Saudi-led Arab coalition made an emergency landing in Yemen due to a technical fault, media reported Friday citing a coalition spokesperson.

DUBAI (Sputnik) — According to the Al Arabiya broadcaster, the helicopter suffered a technical problem while returning from a mission in conflict-torn Arab country and was forced to land in a government-controlled area.

The crew of the helicopter received minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Yemen has been in the grip of a civil war since 2014, which has affected the country’s infrastructure, economic and social systems, as well as national health care. The war is waged between the internationally recognized government of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and the Houthi movement backed by army units loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh. In March 2015, the Saudi-led coalition of mostly Persian Gulf countries launched airstrikes against the Houthis at Hadi's request.
