Turkish police carried out raids in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir arresting 12 suspected members of the Jabhat Fatah al Sham (also known as the Nusra Front) terror group, outlawed in Russia, local media reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The operation was launched on Tuesday by the Diyarbakir Counter Terrorism Police unit under the ongoing investigation of the public prosecutor’s office, the Anadolu news agency reported citing its source.

Police also reportedly seized digital documents during the raids.

Jabhat Fatah al Sham is a terror organization linked to al-Qaeda, outlawed in Russia, which participates in the ongoing war in Syria fighting against the government troops.
