"It is especially important now, when developments keep happening, to boost morale in the Likud and demonstrate that we are united behind the prime minister," Bitan said as quoted by The Jerusalem Post, adding that only the party members would participate in the rally.
The lawmaker, who is also the chairman of the ruling coalition, said that every minister and lawmaker from the party, who would be in the country would attend the event.
Israeli authorities are currently investigating several corruption cases against Netanyahu. Within the framework of the first one, Netanyahu is allegedly involved in an improper acceptance of expensive gifts from businesspeople in return for favors. The second case is related to the negotiations of the Israeli prime minister with the Yedioth Ahronoth daily publisher Arnon Mozes, who reportedly offered a favorable coverage in exchange for reducing circulation of rival newspaper Israel Hayom.
Netanyahu said that the inquiry against him and the corresponding media campaign are unsubstantiated and aim to belittle the achievements of his government.
