An explosion hit Afghanistan’s capital on Thursday, killing at least three civilians and injuring a security official’s bodyguard, local media reported, citing eyewitnesses.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to the Tolo news broadcaster, the incident occurred at 7:15 a.m. local time (02:45 GMT), when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off as the security official’s car was passing by.

Two children were among those who were killed.

Security services have not commented on the incident, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Afghanistan is experiencing political, social and security instability, mostly attributed to the activity of the Taliban and the Daesh terrorist groups, both outlawed in Russia.
