Russia Registers Eight Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours
MOSCOW (Sputnik) Russia’s representatives in the Russian-Turkish commission on the Syrian truce have registered 17 violations of the ceasefire regime during the past 24 hours, mainly in the Syrian province of Aleppo, the country's Defense Ministry said Wednesday.

"Situation in the de-escalation zones is assessed as stable. Within last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 17 cases of firing in provinces of Aleppo (16), Latakia (1). The Turkish party has registered five cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Damascus (1) and Homs (4)," the ministry said in a daily bulletin.

Within the last 24 hours, the Russian Center for reconciliation of opposing sides delivered water to the city of Aleppo and food to the town of Rabiah in the Hama province.

Syria has been devastated by the armed conflict that has been ongoing since 2011. The conflict among the government and armed opposition has been exacerbated by the presence of terrorist groups on the Syrian territory.
