US-Led Int'l Coalition Backs Only Groups Focused on Fighting Daesh in Syria
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US-led coalition against Daesh (banned in Russia) carried out 22 strikes in Syria and Iraq on Wednesday, one of which destroyed the terrorists’ financial exchange facility near Abu Kamal, Operation Inherent Resolve said in a press release.

"Near Abu Kamal, two strikes destroyed Daesh financial exchange facility and a VBIED factory," the release stated on Thursday.

Sixteen other strikes near the Syrian cities of Al Shadaddi, Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa engaged Daesh tactical units and destroyed vehicles, well-heads, a command and control node and a communications facility.

In Iraq, the coalition reported four strieks near Al Qaim, Mosul and Rawah. The strikes destroyed Daesh weapons cache, a vehicle and a malfunctioning piece of coalition equipment.

The US-led coalition of more than 70 members is conducting airstrikes, ground-based and rocket-propelled artillery fire against Daesh in Syria and Iraq. The strikes in Iraq are conducted in support of the Iraqi government, but those in Syria are not authorized by the UN Security Council or the government of President Bashar Assad.
