Israeli Tanks Target Hamas in Gaza After Alleged Cross-Border Shelling
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) tanks targeted at Hamas post in response to shots fired at Israeli military, according to official statement.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Monday they opened fire at Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip in response to shots fired at Israeli military.
"In response to the shots fired at IDF forces along the southern Gaza border, IDF tanks targeted a Hamas post," IDF said via Twitter.

No damage or injuries have been reported as a result of the shelling.
Hamas, an Islamist political and militant group, seeks the creation of an independent state of Palestine and wants Israel to withdraw from the Palestinian territories. Hamas also governs the Gaza Strip independently of the Palestinian Authority.
