US-Led Coalition Strikes Destroy Daesh Explosives Factory Near Iraq’s Bayji

The US-led coalition air forces launched six strikes near Iraqi cities of Kisik and Mosul and eight strikes near Syria's Ayn Isa and Deir ez-Zor against the Daesh targets, according to the Operation Inherent Resolve Joint Task Force.

US Forces Conduct 22 Airstrikes Against Daesh Near Libya’s Sirte
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US-led coalition against the Islamic State (ISIL or Daesh) carried out 15 airstrikes in Syria and Iraq on Monday, including one that destroyed a homemade explosives factory near the Iraqi city of Bayji, the Operation Inherent Resolve Joint Task Force said in a press release.

"Near Bayji, one strike destroyed a homemade explosives factory and supply cache," the release stated on Tuesday.

Six additional airstrikes near Iraqi cities of Kisik and Mosul engaged Daesh tactical units and destroyed their explosive devices facilities, tunnels, bridges and supply routes, the task force said.

In Syria, coalition forces carried out eight airstrikes near Ayn Isa and Deir ez-Zor. The strikes destroyed supply routes, Islamic State oil infrastructure and a command and control node, according to the release.

The US-led coalition of 68 nations has been conducting airstrikes against the Daesh in Syria and Iraq since 2014. The strikes in Syria are not authorized by the government of President Bashar Assad or the UN Security Council.

The Daesh is outlawed in the United States, Russia and in numerous other countries around the world.
