Netanyahu: Israel, Russia Coordinate Actions in Syria to Avoid Clashes
02:57 GMT 12.12.2016 (Updated: 07:22 GMT 12.12.2016) The Israeli and Russian armed forces coordinate their actions in order to avoid “inadvertent” clashes in Syria, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Israel was one of the first countries to set up communications with Russia in an effort to prevent accidents and dangerous incidents throughout Russia's counter-terrorist aerial campaign in Syria.
“We coordinated between our militaries because no one wants an inadvertent Israeli-Russian clash,” Netanyahu said in an interview the CBS News television channel on Sunday.

Netanyahu noted that he was not going to intervene in the Syrian conflict but at the same time he would not allow Iran “to use Syria” to attack Israel.
In November, Russian ambassador to Israel Alexander Shein said told RIA Novosti that Syrian crisis did not change the friendly relations maintained between the Russian and Israeli armed forces, as no incidents occurred that could undermine these relations.
