MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Shells hit residential areas in the neighborhoods of Hamdaniya, Al-Furqan, Meridian and the New Aleppo, the Syrian news agency SANA reported on Saturday.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said earlier in the day troops loyal to the Syrian government were in control of 93 percent of Aleppo. Since morning, over 20,000 civilians fled from eastern districts to the western part of the city, Russian ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.
