The Syrian government is ready to resume Syrian reconciliation talks without preconditions and any foreign interference, Syrian state-run SANA news agency said Friday citing a source in the country's Foreign Ministry.

DAMASCUS (Sputnik) — According to SANA, the source stressed that UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura has not determined the timeframe for a new round on Syrian reconciliation talks since the end of the last round in April.

Russian Envoy to the UN Vitaly Churkin said Thursday that the Syrian peace talks should resume as soon as possible, preferably before the end of the term of the current UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, or by January 1, 2017.
