One Turkish soldier was killed, six others wounded in the car bomb blast near the city of al-Bab in northern Syria, Turkey's General Staff said in a statement on Wednesday.

Turkish Aircraft Destroys Nine Daesh Targets in Syria - General Staff
ANKARA (Sputnik) — On August 24, Turkish forces, backed by US-led coalition aircraft, began a military operation dubbed the Euphrates Shield to clear the Syrian border town of Jarabulus and the surrounding area of Daesh terrorist group. As Jarabulus was retaken, the joint forces of Ankara, the coalition and Syrian rebels continued the offensive southwest.

The operation has been widely criticized both by the Syrian Kurds and Damascus, who have accused Ankara of violating Syria's territorial integrity.

"This morning one of our fellow soldiers was killed and six were injured in the car bomb attack," the statement obtained by RIA Novosti read.
