DUBAI (Sputnik) — According to the WAM news agency, the inmates of various nationalities, who had served half of their sentence and demonstrated exemplary behavior in the country's correctional facilities, will be released in accordance with the presidential decree.
The move is aimed at providing pardoned inmates with an opportunity to start a new life and at easing the suffering of the prisoners’ families.
Prisoners' pardoning is a practice often used during the UAE national holidays.
