MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The statemnt came after Bassil took part in a joint press conference with Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani in the Lebanese capital Beirut.

"We have discussed… the potential Qatar's investment in Lebanon especially in the oil and gas industry," Bassil tweeted after the meeting.
Bassil added that he also had discussed with al-Thani the issue of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon and the need to help the Syrians return back to their country.
According to the European Commission, Lebanon is hosting around 1.1 million Syrian refugees, 42,000 Palestinian refugees from Syria, 6,000 Iraqi refugees and nearly 450,000 refugees from Palestine. The country has the highest per-capita concentration of refugees worldwide.
