DAMASCUS (Sputnik) – Two mortar shells were fired, landing in some 0.12-0.18 miles away from the Russian Embassy. The building remains undamaged, and no information on casualties has been received to date.
The mortar shells were directed from the district of Jobar located on the eastern outskirts of the country’s capital of Damascus.
On October 12, mortar fire struck the area surrounding the Russian Embassy in Damascus without hurting any of the diplomatic staff.
The Adauwi district, housing scores of military objects, has been subject to regular terrorist attacks over the past five years.
