MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Zasypkin noted that Russia has always insisted on the political process as a mean to solve conflicts and in Syria and the humanitarian pause proposed by Russia is a big proof on that.
He added that Russia requested other parties to take measures to facilitate the political solution, among which, is taking concrete steps to separate terrorists from the so-called moderate opposition.
"The humanitarian pause [announced by Russia in Aleppo], is an opportunity that should be received by all parties to transition to the political process," Zasypkin said.
The Russian "humanitarian pause" was introduced in Aleppo at 8 a.m. local time (05:00 GMT) on Thursday to ensure the safe evacuation of unarmed militants, and civilians from eastern Aleppo via eight designated corridors.
