US, Russia Discussing 10-Day Humanitarian Pause in Syria Fighting - Steinmeier
UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) Earlier in the day, the Russian military’s General Staff announced that a humanitarian pause in Aleppo is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time (05:00 to 13:00 GMT) this Thursday, October 20.

“We will use whatever pause we have to do whatever we can,” Dujarric told reporters. “Obviously, there is a need of a longer pause in order to get the trucks in and the trucks out. But any pause is welcome by the UN and the inhabitants of Aleppo.”

He added that all parties to the conflict in Syria will need to provide security assurances so that aid workers can deliver food and other supplies to Aleppo’s residents.
