MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Saudi naval forces began on Tuesday Gulf Shield 1 drills in the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman waters and the Strait of Hormuz.
The exercises are considered to be the largest in the history of the country, amid increasing tensions with Iran.
"The crossing of any Saudi warships participating in the drills is something unacceptable and we warn these ships from entering the territorial waters or entering international waters near the Iranian waters," the Revolutionary Guard said in a statement obtained by Sputnik.
