This is How Daesh May Be Destroyed Earlier Than Thought

Daesh seems to accept any foreigners in its ranks, including those who don't speak Arabic, know nothing about theology and have no previous experience of military training. However, a large number of foreigners might not only be beneficial for the group, but rather pose a serious threat to its existence, journalist Maja Touzari Greenwood assumes.

In her publication for the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, Greenwood wrote that relations between local Daesh fighters and foreigners who joined the organization to wage jihad are tense.

Some conflicts within the organization even led to several killings, the last of which was registered in February, when a Dutchman who tried to escape from the terrorist group was arrested and beaten to death.

The murder sparked a gunfight between local and foreign militants, claiming the life of at least one Iraqi citizen. Following the incident, Daesh was said to have executed at least eight Dutch fighters, the journalist noted.

"From the first day, Daesh foreign fighters receive privileges in compensation for their much more comfortable life abandoned for the sake of the Caliphate," the journalist wrote.

They are paid an increased salary of $200 instead of $130 and offered the best places to live, Greenwood noted.

However, as Daesh faced a number of military setbacks, local militants started to complain of unfair accusations from foreigners, which, they say, do not provide them with sufficient military support, and tend to use them as cannon fodder.

The journalist believes, that it may be just a matter of time until Daesh falls apart without any external efforts.

"Perhaps the 59 countries of the anti-terrorist coalition should just be patient and wait until the internal conflicts destroy Daesh and eliminate the already weak support of the locals," the journalist concluded.
