An adviser to Daesh terror group's leader Abu Bakr Baghdadi was killed by the US-led coalition airstrike in the northern Iraqi province of Nainava, Kurdistan Patriotic Party (PUK) representative, Ghaias Surji, said Monday to the Iraqi TV network Alsumaria.

MOSCOW, September 12 (Sputnik) — According to the PUK representative, the head of the so-called Cubs of the Caliphate – children, recruited by radical Islamists — was also found dead.

Nainava province borders with the autonomous Kurdistan region in Iraq, where Kurdish Peshmerga militia are taking part in an anti-Daesh operation. Mosul, the second-largest city of the country and the center of Nainava, has been controlled by Daesh militants since 2014.

The US-led coalition of more than 60 nations has been carrying out airstrikes against Daesh in Iraq and Syria since 2014.
