The female suspect, as reported by the Sabah newspaper, was detained at the airport after arriving from the southeastern city of Diyarbakir. Her name was given as Ebru Firat and a photograph released by the publication allegedly pictured her next to the leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) Murat Karayilan.

The airport was the target of the Islamic State (ISIL or Daesh) terrorist organization’s June 28 triple bombing and shootings that killed 44 people, including 19 foreigners, and wounded 239.
