ANKARA (Sputnik) — Turkey proposes to introduce a 48-hour ceasefire around Syria's besieged city of Aleppo in order to ensure uninterrupted deliveries of UN humanitarian aid to the civilian population, the Turkish presidential spokesman said Tuesday.
"We are proposing to announce a 48-hour ceasefire in Aleppo and after that extend it until Kurban Bayrami holidays [which begin on September 12]," Ibrahim Kalin told Turkish broadcaster NTV.
