Eight Soldiers, 11 PKK Militants Killed in Clashes in Turkey's Southeast
ANKARA (Sputnik) — According to the military, seven Turkish soldiers were killed in the operation, while 21 more were wounded. The operation to counter the Kurdish militants is still ongoing in the region.

A ceasefire between Turkey and Kurdish militants collapsed in July 2015, prompting the Turkish authorities to launch a military operation in the Kurdish-dominated southeastern regions.

Earlier in the day, authorities in the southeastern Van province reported that eight Turkish soldiers and 11 members of the PKK were killed in 24 hours during clashes.
