MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with government forces loyal to President Bashar Assad fighting numerous opposition factions and extremist groups. On February 27, a US-Russia brokered ceasefire came into force in Syria. Terrorist groups such as Daesh, as well as Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (previously known as the Nusra Front), both outlawed in Russia and a range of other states, are not part of the deal.
"Within last 24 hours, terrorists have shelled with improvised MLRS and mortars Al-Huwayz inhabited area, the gas plant and the tannery, the Kastello trade center, Khai-al-Ansari and Az-Zagra quarters in the Aleppo city. In the as Suwayda province, terrorists have also shelled Jaubar, Baharia, Haush Nasri, Harsa inhabited areas; in Daraa province – southern checkpoint of the Hirbat-al-Gazala inhabited area, in the Hama province – northern checkpoint of the Zellakiyat inhabited area. In the Damascus province, terrorists have shelled positions of the Armed Forces of the Syrian Arab Republic near the farms of the inhabited areas Haush Nasri and Drusha," the bulletin said.
