Russian and US military experts are negotiating humanitarian aid deliveries to the Syrian city of Aleppo with UN officials, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Syria's largest city has been mired in intense fighting, and the Syrian army and local militia forces have encircled large groups of militants in eastern districts of Aleppo.

“Currently, our military experts continue to elaborate on this issue with UN officials and US counterparts,” the ministry said in a statement.

In his announcement of a three-hour daily humanitarian window in Aleppo on Wednesday, the Russian General Staff's Chief of the Main Operational Directorate Lt. Gen. Sergei Rudskoy said the three sides continued pursuing the matter in Geneva.
