Japan will provide an aid package worth $300,000 for vaccination of Syrian children, the country's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday in a statement.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the statement, funds provided by Tokyo will be distributed through the UN Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization.

"This urgent package is aimed to support mass vaccination campaigns in Syria, including its planning and coordination, procurement of vaccines and awareness raising among the population amid medical care restrictions due to the crisis in Syria," the ministry's statement said.
