ANKARA (Sputnik) – The trial of Alparslan Celik, who previously took responsibility for the murder Russian Su-24 pilot Oleg Peshkov, will begin in Turkey's Izmir on June 27, Celik's lawyer Murat Ustundag said Friday.

Celik is accused of illegal possession of weapons.

"The date of the start of the trial has become known: June 27," Ustundag told RIA Novosti.
