DAMASCUS (Sputnik) — At the moment, the Syrian Army is carrying out an offensive on the city of Raqqa, Daesh terrorists' stronghold. At the moment, the troops are moving toward the city of Tabqa in Raqqa's suburbs.
The source noted that Daesh terrorists had tried to gain control over a strategic road near the city of Asriya, however, the Syrian army had repelled the attempt and had killed some of the terrorists.
Raqqa has been under control of Daesh, a designated terror group outlawed in the United States and Russia among many other countries, since 2013.
