"In Syria, coalition military forces conducted five strikes using attack and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL targets," the statement read on Monday. "Additionally in Iraq, Coalition military forces conducted 13 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using rocket artillery and ground-attack, fighter, and attack aircraft against ISIL targets."
Coalition forces in Syria conducted five airstrikes throughout two Syrian cities including in Manbji, where a strike "produced inconclusive results," and in Mara, destroying several fighting positions, tactical vehicles and units as well as a Daesh house borne improvised explosive device.
In Iraq, coalition carried out 13 airstrikes in and around six Iraqi cities including Mosul, destroying a Daesh rocket rail, bed down locations, supply cache, heavy machine gun, a vehicle borne IED, several fighting positions and blocking off access to terrain.
The US-led coalition of over 60 nations has been carrying out airstrikes against Daesh in Syria and Iraq since summer 2014 and are currently in the midst of helping Iraqi security forces reclaim Mosul from Daesh militants.
