Iran Must Return Place in Oil, Gas Markets
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Iran does not represent a treat to other states, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Thursday at a ceremony held ahead of the country’s National Nuclear Technology Day.

"We are not a threat to any country. We pose no threat to any country, nor do we have any plan to threaten them or put pressure on them," Rouhani said as quoted by the national Press TV broadcaster.

Kerry: Iran ‘Absolutely’ Deserves All Benefits of Nuclear Agreement
In March, Iranian state media reported the country’s Revolutionary Guard Corps carried out a ballistic missile launch as one of the last steps in testing the capabilities of Iranian-produced missiles. The United States claimed that Iran's actions violated UN Security Council Resolution 2231. The resolution restricts ballistic missile-related supplies, sales or transfers, but does not explicitly outlaw tests.

"During the 37 years after the [victory of the 1979] Islamic Revolution, we invaded no country, nor did we threaten anyone. We just defended ourselves when we were invaded," Rouhani stressed.

In July 2015, Tehran and six international mediators reached a historic deal on Iranian nuclear program, which guarantees the peaceful nature of its nuclear program in exchange for the gradual termination of anti-Iran sanctions. In mid-January, a UN nuclear watchdog IAEA report verified Tehran’s compliance with the agreement.
