Nearly five metric tons (5.5 US tons) of Russian-Syrian humanitarian aid supplies were delivered to the Qanayah settlement in the Syrian Homs province, regularly shelled by the Nusra Front militant group, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported from the scene.

QANAYAH (Syria), (Sputnik) – Each resident has been given a humanitarian aid package that included canned fish, beef stew, as well as two kilos of rice, peas and beans. For local children, a separate gift set has been provided, it included waffles, as well as two kinds of candy and cookies.

During the war, people from nearby villages were forced to leave their homes, fleeing terrorists, and settle in Qanayah that was defended by the government army and militia’s efforts.

However, the Syrian military note that even relatively safe Qanayah, which has become a haven for many refugees from the neighborhood, is subjected to attacks by terrorist groups.
