    Five Egyptian servicemen were killed and seven others were injured when an old mine exploded near the coastal town of Safaga, local media reported Saturday.

    CAIRO (Sputnik) – A military patrol was driving over a closed mine field when the incident happened, according security sources as cited by the Masrawi.

    The wounded have been taken to the hospitals of Safaga and neighboring Hurghada.

    Earlier it was reported that four servicemen were injured as a result of the blast.
