Turkey Nabs Daesh Suicide Bomber Trying to Cross From Syria
The suicide bomber, who carried explosives ready to be detonated, was detained among a group of 10 people, at the border between Syria and Turkey, according to local media.
ANKARA (Sputnik) — The Turkish military detained on Tuesday a group of 10 people, including an Daesh-affiliated suicide bomber, which was attempting to illegally cross into the country from Syria, local media reported.
According to Daily Sabah newspaper, the suicide bomber was carrying explosives ready to be detonated.
The detention took place due to increased security measures at the Turkish-Syrian border following recent terrorist attacks in Ankara and Istanbul.
On March 13, at least 37 people were killed and over 125 were wounded at a bus stop near a central square in Ankara and on March 19, five people including the attacker were killed and at least 36 were injured in blast at a major tourist street in Istanbul.
