Syria Vows to Defeat Terrorists With Help of Allies - Ambassador to Russia

The Syrian government will its fight against terrorism until the victory and Damascus is capable to accomplish this task with the help of its allies, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad said Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The diplomat reiterated that Damascus was cooperating with all parties interested in peaceful settlement of the Syrian conflict, and "welcomes all proposals that could facilitate intra-Syrian dialogue."

"Syria is continuing its fight to eradicate terrorism in the country, and it is capable of accomplishing this task with the help of allies," Haddad said, adding that the Russian anti-terrorist air campaign 'paralyzed' Daesh.

On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the pullout of the main contingent of Russian forces from Syria, stating they had accomplished their anti-terrorism mission.

Russian Aerospace Forces Commander Col. General Viktor Bondarev said the withdrawal of Russian forces from Syria will be completed within two to three days.

Russia had conducted an aerial campaign against terrorists in Syria since September 30, 2015 at the request of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
