    Syrian Kurds want to remain within the country's borders after declaring plans to establish a federal region in the North, a PYD co-chair told Sputnik.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Syrian Kurds are willing to stay within the country's borders after announcing plans to create a federal region in northern Syria, co-chair of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) Saleh Muslim told Sputnik on Thursday.

    "We will stay within the borders," Muslim said.

    Syrian Kurds have announced the creation of a federal region in northern Syria earlier on Thursday, according to media reports.
