Kurds to Stay in Syria After Announcing Creation of Federal Region - PYD
GENEVA (Sputnik) — Kurds' announcement on federalization is premature and this issue should be raised in Geneva during the intra-Syrian talks, the head of the Hmeymim opposition group Ilian Masaad told Sputnik Thursday.

"Our Syrian friends should have waited till all the Syrians agree on a solution to this sensitive [Syrian Kurdish] issue. This step is premature. In any case, it is just symbolic. It has nothing in common with the reality," Masaad said.

Earlier in the day, media reports appeared saying that the Syrian Kurds have announced the establishment of a federal region in northern Syria.
