An aide to Syrian President Bashar Assad said that Syria welcomed coordination of actions between Moscow and Washington in efforts to bring stability in Syria and the idle East region.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Damascus is expecting Washington to apply greater pressure on those who oppose a reconciliation process in the war-torn country, an aide to Syrian President Bashar Assad said Tuesday.

"We are expecting the USA to apply greater pressure on those who are against the peaceful settlement of the Syrian conflict," Bouthaina Shaaban said in an interview with RT Arabic television.

Shaaban added that Syria welcomed coordination of actions between Moscow and Washington in efforts to bring stability in Syria and the idle East region.
