    Russia will keep doing everything necessary to protect its bases in Syria both from the air and from the ground, Kremlin Administration head Sergei Ivanov said Tuesday.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia will retain all necessary means for the protection of its facilities both from the air and from the ground in Syria, including S-400 air defense systems, Kremlin Administration head Sergei Ivanov said Tuesday.

    “In order to effectively provide security, including from the air, the most modern air defense systems are needed,” Ivanov told journalists when asked if Russia would retain its S-400s in Syria for the time being.
