US Without Conclusion on Organizers of Terrorist Attack in Ankara
ANKARA (Sputnik) Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus confirmed on Monday that the recent deadly blast in Ankara was a terrorist attack carried out by a female suicide bomber.

"It has been clearly determined that the bombing was carried out by a female. The man who could have been her accomplice…has not yet been identified. I urge journalists to be patient and wait for the outcome of forensic medical examination," Kurtulmus told reporters.

A car bomb exploded late on Sunday at a bus stop in central Ankara, leaving at least 37 dead and over 120 injured.

Shortly afterwards, Turkish media reported that one of the two suspected suicide bombers was Seher Cagla Demir, a woman reportedly related to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which is outlawed in Turkey. The second suspect was reportedly a male Turkish citizen with links to the Kurdish militants.

Cagla Demir had reportedly been on trial, along with four female co-accused, for PKK membership and spreading terrorist propaganda.
