TEL AVIV (Sputnik) — On Tuesday, a Palestinian man stabbed 11 people in Tel Aviv. One of the victims, a US tourist, was later confirmed to have died in the attack while the assailant was shot and killed.
Some 30 Israelis and several foreigners have been killed in knife, gun or vehicle attacks, believed to be carried out mostly by Palestinian youths, since September 2015.
"There can be no justification for this hateful violence. The United States stands firmly behind Israel's right to defend itself," Biden told reporters after his talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
