Daesh Claims Responsibility for Attack in Iraqi Province of Babil
Deadly terror attack in the Iraqi Babil province, that killed at least 35 people, was conducted by the Daesh terrorist group, according to media reports.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Islamic State (ISIL or Daesh) militant group claimed responsibility for the deadly terror attack in the Iraqi Babil province, Alsumaria TV channel reported Sunday.
At least 35 people were killed and 34 injured on Sunday in a terror attack conducted in the Iraqi city of Hillah located some 60 miles south of country's capital of Baghdad.
Since 2014, vast territories in Iraq and neighboring Syria have been occupied by Daesh, which has proclaimed a caliphate on the lands under its control. The terrorist group is notorious for numerous terror attacks and many human rights atrocities committed in both countries.
The jihadist organization, which is outlawed in many countries, including Russia and the United States, has also claimed responsibility for such acts of violence as the November deadly attacks in Paris, when 130 people were killed, and the October downing of the Russian Airbus A321 passenger plane in Egypt, which carried 224 people on board.
