Back to Iraq: Pentagon Seeks to Further Expand Role in War-Torn Country
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to Hadithi, all the US-led international coalition's activity in the fight against Daesh terrorist group is being conducted with the approval of the Iraqi government.

"The number of foreign military instructors in Iraq ranges between 5,000 and 5,500 people, including 3,500 US citizens. There is also a small group of US special forces, which support the Iraqi forces in coordination with the Iraqi government," Hadithi said, as quoted by the Iraqi Media News Agency.

The US-led international coalition against Daesh has been conducting airstrikes against the terror group’s positions in Iraq since August 2014.
