The Syrian government army has regained control over all settlements along a key supply route linking the northern city of Aleppo with the town of Khanaser to its southeast, Syrian media reported Friday.

DAMASCUS (Sputnik) – The recapture of the Aleppo-Khanaser road by the Syrian army and its allies, as reported by the Arabic Al Mayadeen broadcaster, comes a day after reports of government forces liberating Khanaser from Daesh jihadist fighters after three days of fighting.

The threat of a terrorist counter-attack has delayed the restoration of traffic along the road.

The Ithriyah-Khanaser-Aleppo bypass road is the only supply route for government troops, fuel, products and other necessities.
