BEIRUT (Sputnik) — The number of killed in a series of attacks in the Syrian capital of Damascus and the country's western city of Homs has risen to 166.
According to earlier reports, at least 80 people were killed and over 200 were wounded in the Sunday multiple suicide blasts and a car bomb attack in Damascus, while at least 46 people died and 115 were injured in a double car bombing in Homs the same day.
Daesh terrororist group claimed responsibility for the attacks.
"Syria demands that the UNSC and the UN secretary general promptly and harshly condemn terrorist attacks. It also asks that the UNSC take harsh urgent measures and adopt sanctions against states that condone and sponsor terrorism," the statement said.
