BEIRUT/MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to earlier reports, at least 80 people were killed and over 200 were wounded in the Sunday multiple suicide blasts and a car bomb attack in Damascus, while at least 46 people died and 115 were injured in a double car bombing in Homs the same day.
"120 people became victims of the terrorist acts in the south of Damascus. A series of blasts on Sunday became the largest and the most bloody in all five years of the [Syrian] crisis," the source told RIA Novosti.
Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with the country’s government fighting multiple opposition factions and extremist groups.
