Earlier in the day, media report suggested that that 21 suspects were believed to be behind the recent terrorist attack in Ankara. According to Anadolu, seven people were released after being questioned in the Ankara court.

On February 17, a car bomb exploded outside a military housing complex near the parliament building in central Ankara, killing 28 and injuring 61. Following the attack, Ankara embarked on security operations in a number of provinces throughout the country.
