MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Anadolu news agency reported, citing judicial sources, that these suspects are charged with assisting terrorists and forging official documents.
Earlier in the day, media report suggested that that 21 suspects were believed to be behind the recent terrorist attack in Ankara. According to Anadolu, seven people were released after being questioned in the Ankara court.
On February 17, a car bomb exploded outside a military housing complex near the parliament building in central Ankara, killing 28 and injuring 61. Following the attack, Ankara embarked on security operations in a number of provinces throughout the country.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on February 19 Ankara was absolutely certain that the Kurdish People’s Protection Units had carried out the deadly car explosion. The same day, the Kurdistan Freedom Falcons militants claimed responsibility for the attack. This group is an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is considered to be terrorist by Ankara.
