In its fight against Daesh, also known as IS/Islamic State, Moscow has deployed its newest Su-35 fighter jets to Syria, where they remain on constant standby at Hmeymim airbase.

Since its Syrian air campaign began last September, Russia has carried out thousands of sorties against terrorist targets, crippling Daesh’s infrastructure. Those operations have been carried out by Moscow’s state-of-the-art Su-24s, Su-34s, and Tu-22M bombers.

Now Russia has its fleet of new Su-35s on 24/7 standby at Hmeymim airbase.

"The planes will be kept in a state of constant readiness, with a pair of Su-35 ready to take off at a moment’s notice to provide assistance to other aircraft," a representative of the Russian Aerospace Forces battlegroup in Syria told reporters.

"A pair of Su-35 jets is capable of increasing other planes’ 360-degree detection radius up to 400 kilometers."

A multirole aircraft, the Su-35 can be used for both escort and bombing runs.

"At present, we have a task to use these jets as effectively as possible. These jets can carry all kinds of bombs," the representative said.

The Russian Aerospace Forces are operating at the behest of the legitimate government of Syrian President Bashar Assad. Syria has been mired in a bloody civil war since 2011.

Interesting how the Russians brought in these jets when Turkey and the others seem ready to invade. I'm thinking Syria isn't just going to sit back and let Israel., Turkey or whoever slice off whatever piece of Syria they want.

Yes you are either with Russia, or you are with the Terrorist!

These are not Daesh crushing Su-35's. These are Turkish F-16 crushing Su-35's. Su-35 is purely an airsuperiority jets meant to hit other jets with 3m^2 RCS at 400km range with its Irbis-E radar or 90km for F-22 RCS aircraft or roughly 50km with its OLS system. Air to ground capabilities are simply secondary and would not be nearly as effective as the Su-30SM's that currently reside also in Syria.

I forgot to mention that new Pantsir-S2's are also seen in Russian airbase in Syria. These systems are specifically mean to help Syrian airforce and Russian jets counter possible enemy jets.

If the US and UK are hit by nuclear missiles due to the silly aggression of NATO it will likely be that the Hollywood Mad Max film would become reality in those countries. Gangs of wannabe warlords spreading terror throughout the US and UK.
A kind of home made ISIL I suppose.
Some might say that would be justice, lol.

Just to refresh your memory, Turkey already shot down your planes (SU24, another state of the art machine according to this piece:)) What have you guys done other than talking the tough talk and banning chicken imports? What is the plan if one of these new ones gets shot too? I'm sure there are very though plans being prepared as we speak. Maybe an egg import ban? LOL. Talk is cheap dude, but whatever makes you happy.

I love the way Russian jets just leap off the runway, straight up into the sky. They are simply beautiful to watch.

jas, Nor should they. The western narrative makes me sick to my stomach.

sepheronx, sounds good to me - they need a few less F-16s over there anyway.

I hope the United States of Capitalism and Zionist Israel don't decide to put boots on the ground in Syria. That's not only an act of aggression but an invasion of a nation state - like IS/Islamic State.

The Russians have ALWAYS designed their military equipment to (War-purpose-Kill) that's it. No more, no less. Russia's weapons have always been War reliable.
The US relies way to much on leading edge tech txt can be wiped out by specialized 1's and 0's. Remember the Black incident when a Flanker jammed an Aegis Missile cruiser? Text book example. I read the the sailors on that cruiser freaked out as they were helpless as the Flanker did practice run after run on the ship. Russian tech will always come out ahead, until that is the 2 Countries release the Black project weapons that are 30years in the future advanced. Then we will have to see who comes out ahead. Bu for now it is the Russians!
