WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – “We killed about, almost, I think over 60 fighters inside Ramadi just in the last 24 hours,” Warren said.
Ramadi had been occupied by Daesh, an organization outlawed in many countries including Russia, since May.
The Iraqi army announced in late December it had regained full control over the western Iraqi city. Anbar province authorities and US Secretary of State John Kerry later clarified that Ramadi had not yet been fully reclaimed.
Commander of Iraq's anti-terrorism contingent Lt. Gen. Abdul-Ghani Asadi told Sputnik Sunday that parts of Ramadi remaining under Daesh control should be fully liberated in four to five days.
