BEIRUT (Sputnik) – At least 13 people were killed and dozens were injured when two explosive devices were detonated in the northeastern Syrian city of Kamishli (al-Qamishli) on the border with Turkey, a source in the Assyrian militia told RIA Novosti.

"The bombs exploded in the ‘Miami’ and ‘Gabriel’ restaurants. From the first one, we carried out no less than ten bodies and 18 wounded. We don’t know yet what’s going on in the second restaurant, but there are dozens of victims," the source said.

Later on, a source in the Assyrian militia said that third blast followed the two explosions in Kamishli.

"A blast occurred in one more restaurant. Our militia and Syrian forces are headed there. It is close to the first two terrorist attacks," the Assyrian militia source said.

"As of now, there are 13 dead and dozens of wounded," the source updated the information later.

Local media report that the death toll from the blasts has surpassed 15.

One more explosive device was reportedly found not far from the site of the explosions, which occurred in an area where Assyrian Christians live.

Local media report that the attacks were carried out by suicide bombers.
