A suicide attacker exploded a bomb outside a registration office in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Mardan on Tuesday, killing at least 18 people and wounding more than 30, local media reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Almost 18 pounds of explosives were detonated, the Dunya TV channel cited officials as saying.

The explosion that hit the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was heard at a large distance.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned what he said was a terrorist attack and expressed deep grief over loss of innocent lives, his party said.
